Here are the tools you will need to install
FastLightsLEDS. Also, have some Acetone on hand for
cleaning purposes.
 |
Standard start-up kit
includes 6 LED pods, Wire, plastic inserts, 1
control
pod, and a wireless remote.
 |
Step 1:
Disconnect
your 12 volt positive power supply. |
Step 2:
Locate
desired locations for the LED pods you will be
installing. (normally if mounting 10 LEDS, place 5 pods
on each side, but do not mount the Control pod or LED
pods until step# 15) |
Step 3:
Start with
the Control pod. (do not wire the Control pod to the
12volt power source until step # 11 & 12) Your Control
pod has a (12volt) on one side, and (pods) on the other
side. Find a desired location to mount your Control pod. |
Step 4:
After you
have located a desired location to mount your Control
pod (usually near the battery), estimate distance
between the Control pod and the first LED pod and cut
wire to desired length. |
Step 5:
Using wire
strippers, strip the outer black wire approximately 1/2
inch down the wire, leaving 1/2 inch green wire, and 1/2
inch red wire. |
Step 6:
Again, using
wire strippers, strip the green wire 1/4 inch, leaving
1/4 inch green wire and 1/4 inch copper wire. Do the
same procedure for the red wire, and tightly twist each
wire. |
|
 |
Step 7:
Push the red
and the green wire through the small end of the plastic
insert, and out the larger end. Then, pull the wire
tightly and fold copper wire over the edge of the sides
of the plastic insert. |
Step 8:
Match the
red (positive) wire from the plastic insert to the
positive side of the LED pod, and the green (negative)
wire from the plastic insert to the negative side of the
LED pod. Push insert into LED pod tightly. |
Step 9:
Using
channel lock pliers, or standard pliers, try to tighten
plastic insert into LED pod (make certain not to apply
to much pressure). |
Step 10:
Repeat the
same procedure for your remaining LED pods (make sure to
keep your red wire to the (+) side of the LED pods, and
the green wire to the (-) side of the LED pods).
|
Step 11:
Once you
have finished wiring your Control pod and LED pods,
attach your wire from the 12volt side of the Control pod
to your 12volt power source: red to positive, green to
negative. |
Step 12:
Re-attach
your 12volt positive power supply and make sure all of
your pods come on. |
Step 13:
With your
wireless remote in your hand, pointing directly at the
Control pod, press and hold the button down until your
LED pods flash. Now you have programmed your FastLights
remote. |
Step 14:
Press remote
button once, and the LED pods should all come on steady.
Press again and they should all flash. Press again and
they should all go off. |
Step 15:
With the
pods in the "OFF" position, remove the 3M adhesive strip
from the backside of LED pod. Make sure that you clean
the immediate area where LED pod will be installed,
using acetone and let area air-dry for
approximately 1 minute. Then, press the LED pod firmly
into desired location. Repeat for all LED pods.
|
Step 16:
Hide all
exposed wires, make sure that NO wires are in direct
contact with ANY hot surface. |
|
Now you are
ready to enjoy your FastLights LED system.
Remember to obey your local laws concerning LEDs, and DO
NOT use the Flash function while driving.
